Unique Learning Experience
Launching in Townsville
by Altoview | June 26, 2017
Altoview have partnered with Townsville City Council and James Cook University to provide a valuable learning experience for students in Townsville.
The Townsville Pilot Project is one of the first in Australia to use Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) wireless technology to send data from multiple measurement nodes to the cloud where it is stored using Altoview software.
How does it work?
Students will place sensor nodes along the Ross Creek. Data from the nodes will be transferred to th clou based Altoview software LPWAN technology. The transfer is made possible b a network of several LPWAN gateways througout the city.
Students can then have access to their real time data through the Altoview members’ portal.
This student learning exercies has been developed to provide a real life experience for both primary and secondary school students from slected Townsville schools.
There has been global interest in the Altoview technology which has potential for use in agribusiness, hospitality, energy providers, universities, governments, environmental groups and more.
The Townsville students who have taken par in this pilot project will forever know they were one of the first in the world to use Altoview.
